Learning English at an early age gives children a major advantage in accessing information. The majority of books, magazines, and newspapers worldwide, as well as an incredible 95% of scientific publications, are written in English. It is also the dominant language of the internet and computing terminology.
Children attending Espania Nursery School will be able to communicate in English after approximately two years , reaching the level of a three- to four-year-old native English speaker. From then on, their communication and comprehension skills will improve rapidly, gradually approaching the abilities of children from English-speaking countries. They will be able to watch television in English and fully understand it, and by the age of six, they will begin translating between languages.
German is the key to Europe. As a native language for over 100 million people and a working language in many international companies, it opens doors for children to study, travel, and pursue careers around the world. Knowledge of German also develops logical thinking, precision in expression, and an understanding of language structure.
At Espania Kindergarten, as with other foreign languages, children absorb German through all-day communication with a native-speaking teacher. Over time, and alongside their peers, they begin using the language spontaneously—without mentally translating. After just two years, children are able to respond to everyday situations in German, ask questions, express
What are the 3 most common reasons to learn German?
Access to Higher Education: Many German universities offer programs in English or German that are accessible to Slovak students. Proficiency in German gives children an advantage when applying for scholarships or studying at top universities in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland.
Economic and Trade Opportunities: Germany is Slovakia’s largest trading partner in industries such as automotive, engineering, and manufacturing. Knowing German enables smooth cooperation in international business and trade with this key neighbor.
At our kindergarten, children are constantly immersed in a bilingual environment – meaning they don’t attend Spanish courses, but all subjects are taught in Spanish and English, if that is the chosen language combination.
Spanish is a language full of rhythm, colour, and energy. Children are introduced to new words and phrases through dynamic activities such as songs, rhymes, and simple dialogues. Over time, they develop correct pronunciation, basic grammar skills, and the ability to communicate in simple conversations.
Learning is enriched by exploring the cultural diversity of Spanish-speaking countries - from the passionate dance of flamenco to lively festivals like the Rio Carnival.
If the Chinese-English combination is chosen, all subjects are taught in Chinese and English in weekly intervals.
Chinese provides access to a fascinating culture and a new way of thinking. Children learn to recognize and write basic characters, practice pronunciation, and discover the musicality of tones that make the language unique. Through games, songs, and interactive activities, they familiarize themselves with common phrases and basic grammar.
Beyond language learning, they explore Chinese festivals, traditional stories, and everyday customs, broadening their horizons.
The aim is not only to develop communication skills but also to inspire curiosity and respect for one of the world’s oldest civilisations.
